Powell-Mason from Powell & Market
Walk to Powell & Market. Board the Powell-Mason line northbound. Stay on through Nob Hill, over the hill, and exit at Mason & Filbert. Walk three blocks east on Filbert to Columbus, then one block north. Free, scenic, and you arrive on the right side of the street.
Lyft or Uber up the Embarcadero
From Salesforce Tower, Embarcadero Center, or Montgomery BART, set the destination to 899 Columbus Ave. Drivers will go up the Embarcadero past the Ferry Building and Pier 39, then left on Bay or Chestnut to Columbus. Door drop-off is on the Columbus side, just past the corner of Lombard.
Up the Embarcadero after 6 PM
From Sansome or Battery, take the Embarcadero north past Pier 39, then left on Bay, right on Mason, and Mason takes you straight into the heart of North Beach. Two-hour metered parking is free after 6 PM. Mason and Greenwich is the most reliable street.
30 Stockton bus, no transfer
Catch the 30 Stockton inbound from any FiDi stop on Stockton or 4th & Stockton. Stay on through Chinatown, over the tunnel, and exit at Columbus & Greenwich. Walk one block north on Columbus. The 30 runs late and is the most reliable bus into North Beach.

From Montgomery BART, walk north on Montgomery, jog left on Washington, and pick up Columbus at the Transamerica Pyramid. Columbus diagonals north through Chinatown and the heart of North Beach. The walk is iconic and the route is busy enough to feel safe at any hour. We are on the right, two blocks past Washington Square.
